Aquebogue students raised $669 for the family of fourth-grader Christopher Timpone this week by making and selling hand-made lollipop Valentines.
Students from three classes participated in the "Lolligram" project.
A total of 1,200 Lolligrams were sold for 50 cents apiece.
"We sent a note home to Aquebogue families asking if they would like to send someone a Lolligram on Valentine's Day," said teacher Katy Petit. "The response was fantastic," she said.
“As part of our character education program, we talk with the children about doing good deeds for others," Petit said.
