The League III champion Riverhead Blue Waves (12-0, 17-1) girls basketball team will play their first playoff game of 2012 Monday at 5 p.m. at home. The Waves, seeded number three in Suffolk, will host the winner of tomorrow's game between East Islip and Patchogue Medford.
Patchogue Medford, seeded 14th, finished the regular season 8-6 in League I. East Islip, 6-6 in League III, is seeded 19th.
The varsity boys basketball team will travel to West Babylon tomorrow for the first game of the 2012 postseason.
The Eagles are 8-6 in League IV, 10-8 overall.
Game time is 5 p.m.
The winner of tomorrow's game will play League IV champs Deer Park (13-1, 15-3) Saturday at 2 p.m. in Deer Park.
The Waves finished the regular season at 6-6 in League II play, 8-10 overall.
