Flanders woman charged with leaving scene of accident with injuries

A Flanders woman was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident in Southampton yesterday.

Southampton Town Police said 21-year-old Dorely Hernandez was involved in a motor vehicle accident at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Mountauk Highway and Mecox Road. Two other people were injured in the crash, police said. Hernandez left the scene, but left behind a calling card: the license plate on her car, according to the police report.

Police said they found Hernandez at her Flanders home and placed her under arrest at approximately 9:56 p.m. Tuesday night. She was processed at police headquarters and released on an appearance ticket for a later court date, police said.
